Bröd joined Wijkmanska Blecket as an exchange student in Fall 2012 after being redirected to Uplands Nation after a misslyckad audition for Svenska Showorkestern Phontrattarne. Upon arriving to Uplands, Bröd found Blecket about to depart for their rehearsal weekend. Introducing himself as a drummer interested in the band he was immediately invited to join the rehearsal weekend on the spot. And in a moment he looks back on now with regret, Bröd decided not to get into the van with a bunch of people dressed as sailors and drive off into the Swedish wilderness. Despite this, Bröd did in fact join Blecket and began his drummers apprenticeship under Nakenmarkus. Interestingly. Bröd was in fact a nykterist before joining Blecket and during the course of his first few months began engaging in the partaking of the alcoholic beverage beer. It was a time characterized by lots of Swedish which Bröd rarely understood at the time and plenty of wonderful old Swedish jazz and swing music which was representative of Bleckets repertoire at the time. The end of the year culminated with a luxurious tour through the German country side to Munich organized by Benni. Remarkably, Swedes wind up speaking Enlgish in Germany and for the first time Bröd was able to understand the mellansnack inbetween songs. The tour was a tremendously formative experience for Bröd and a bonding moment between all of the people in Blecket.
Upon returning to California, Bröd longed to go back to back to Uppsala, back to Uplands Nation, back to Blecket. He decided to firmly to return to Sweden, Bröd returned to Sweden in Summer 2014 and was met on his first day back in Uppsala by a delegation of Blecket's finest members who were still in town. Not being able to get enough of the tour life, Bröd joined for the Kårsdraget tour that Summer to Groningen, The Netherlands.
The 2014 academic year was a time of frenzied activity in Blecket, with rehearsals and events every week for several months without respite. Bröd held his post as Styrman with the philosophy of playing most songs twice through and then calling it a day. The annual dam middag was organized. Brunk was attended. Vinden was cleaned and then immediately soiled. Bröd incorporated tights into this Blecket attire. Music was played at the rehearsal weekend before Valborg. And SOF was won.
Through the year, Blecket's strength in numbers hovered around one dozen active members many of which were international students and, like drinking the blood of a unicorn, had kept Blecket alive but also came with the curse of having to build up the orchestra again after they left.
and accepted a nomination to the stab as Styrman despite having no musical training despite playing drums, which many argue counts as a negative amount of musical training. To counteract his lack of music knowledge, Bröd began to pickup trombone since his arms were definitely long enough.
